As the title above, here's the page for the RAM https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CMK16GX4M2A2400C14-Vengeance-Performance-Desktop/dp/B00S51XHUQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1511205041&sr=8-1&keywords=CMK32GX4M4A2400C14&dpID=410ZIrDj5cL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch and for the board https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/Z170-E/.

As far as I'm aware it has the necessary speed as well as being DDR4, however it is not listed within the compatibility recommendations on either ASUS or Corsair's webpage. Also how would go about working out which is compatible myself?

Giving a fish: Yes it is compatible.

4 x DIMM, Max. 64GB, DDR4 3466(O.C.)/3400(O.C.)/3333(O.C.)/3200(O.C.)/3000(O.C.)/2800(O.C.)/2666(O.C.)/2400(O.C.)/2133 MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory
Dual Channel Memory Architecture
* Hyper DIMM support is subject to the physical characteristics of individual CPUs.
* Refer to www.asus.com for the Memory QVL (Qualified Vendors Lists).

The type and speed are within that list so it'll work. But I don't know about that. How can I be doubly sure? Click on Support and then click on Memory support(QVL lists). Within that list I see

CORSAIR CMK16GX4M4A2400C14(Ver4.23)(XMP) 16GB ( 4x 4GB )

It is 100% compatible. The...

It is 100% compatible. The amounts are secondary. The board can support up to 64GB so 2 x 8GB will work.

Be aware that Qualified Vendor Lists for memory are only guidelines. There's no way a motherboard manufacturer can test 100% of the memory modules on the market. It is only a guideline.

You were on the right track but didn't see that diamond hiding in the rough.
