Im planning to build up new system as the one i got right now i give this to my brother so this is what i came up with as later on on christmas im planning to search for 2k monitor and add ssd as for this week i can purchase these parts which i included and the next week im planning on purchasing gtx 1080

1080s can easily run games at 2K, hell it might even be a little overkill.

Once you get the 1080 installed, then yes you'll be good to go for 1440p (2K) gaming. But with the 8600k I would get faster RAM than that. I'd go AT LEAST 2400mhz.

What about the graphics card? I'm pretty sure that you will need one for gaming. And you haven't listed one,. For gaming at 1440p you will need a GTX 1070 or above..

It should do well. I would suggest you replace the AIO cooler with a air cooler such as the Noctua NH-D15s. The pump won't go out on an air cooler. I would suggest faster ram. Also you forgot a motherboard and PSU.

Yes with those specs with the GTX 1080 you will have a great 1440p Gaming PC .
