Hello,
I was wondering if an Asus Maximus Extreme x38 motherboard could handle 2x4GB DDR3 1333MHz of RAM.
As from motherboard's manual, it could only handle 2GB DDR3 1333MHz at max per DIMM slot, but I have seen some people using more than that (such as 2x4GB DDR3 1333MHz (4GB of RAM per DIMM slot, as mentioned)).
If it's possible, is it risky to try or go for a long-term usage?
Sorry, I'm just a total newbie with this stuff... My friend just gave me his old computer (with Asus Maximus Extreme x38) which has no RAM in it, so... Trying to find the best way to add some RAM to it (in case for long-term usage). I have a really tight budget at the moment that don't think an new(ish) replacement for the motherboard would be possible (or for any other already existing parts of the build).

A video of someone trying 4GB of RAM per DIMM slot (for the mentioned motherboard): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NejTmG4gNJI
One of the 4GB DDR3 1333MHz RAM's (that has been used in the video above): https://www.kingston.com/dataSheets/KVR1333D3N9_4G.pdf
Also, open for any RAM suggestions in this case (for 2x4GB DDR3 1333MHz).
Thanks all for the help !
