I have one stick of 4 gb ddr3 1866 kingston hyperx and want to buy another one, ideally I want to buy the same one, same speed and same capacity,my question is, would it cause problems if instead for example buy a 8 gb of ddr3 1866? and what if it is 8 gb of ddr3 at 1600? would it still be okay?

how big of a chance of miss? I mean, I heard everywhere that "this is why they sell kits of two" and all of that, but how common is to not work when identical? I will be buying it tomorrow no matter what, but still wanted to know

update to this story, went and bought the 2nd stick, put it in the 2nd free slot I had and it didn't worked, the memory in the 2nd slot wasn't being recognized,I changed them places, the new one in "slot n1" and old in "slot n2" and still one stick wasn't being recognized, tried both alone in "slot n1" both worked, so I just assumed had a bad 2nd slot and went to return it, bought 1 stick of 8 gb with the money of that 4gb stick + some more and now it works like a charm. im broke but at least have one stick for any emergency haha
