Hello! Sorry if this is an obvious question, but I’m not too familiar with hardware. I have an HP folio 13-1020us with a 128gb ssd (mzmpa128hmfu-000h1) and my computer says the hard drive is in danger of imminent failure. I have all of my files backed up on an external hard drive so I’m not worried about losing anything, but I would like to replace my hard drive. The repair shop near me said the part is unavailable through their suppliers but that if I get a new hard drive they can swap it out and migrate my files.

My question is: do I have to replace it with the exact same hard drive or will any mSATA drive work (are their specific things I need to check to make sure one is compatible)? It seems like there are some options that are fairly inexpensive and the exact model I have has been hard to find except for used ones, which I would like to avoid. I only use my laptop for photo editing with adobe photoshop elements and web browsing, so I think 128gb is enough for me.

Any thoughts or advice are appreciated!
