Hi there,

I am an Oracle DBA and I would like practice Oracle technologies like RAC, Data guard, Golden Gate and etc on a personal desktop where I would like to create multiple Virtual machines and install Linux operating system to do the configurations.

At the max, I would be creating 3 VM with 8G Memory.

Can anyone please suggest me a perfect hardware for this task.

Please let me know if you need any more information.

Cheers
Salai

Your three VMs at 8GB each means that you will need 32GB RAM. A Ryzen would provide sufficient CPU. But you are missing the storage infrastructure that a typical Oracle server has. You could add 4 SATA drives and partition them so that you have a lot of volumes.
