Hello, I have a GigaByte Z68A-D3H-B3 motherboard but it doesn';t come with a wifi card. I found out the chipset is Intel Z68 Chipset. Is it compatible with any kind of wireless card? (Such as broadcom, aetheros, intel 5300...etc)?

I mean does it matter? I've seen some wifi card saying "For chipset: intel 5300"This one.

I have a DIR-822 router.

I'm not sure how to choose a good 300+mbps wifi card.
It would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! :)

You could go USB if you were really concerned but pretty much as long as you can get drivers for the card it will work in any motherboard it fit in. Since I suspect you have win10 and pci/pcie slots pretty much any of the newer cards will work fine. Since your router is a 1200ac I would buy a card with a similar spec. You can never go faster than the slowest device so it does not pay to spend a lot on a card that is faster than your router.

I prefer a card since usb has a slower connection! Yes those are all correct, win10 and both pci and pcie. Im jist afraid when it says for intel 5300 chipset and i buy it, it wouldnt work so well. Do you have any recommendations for a wifi card + bluetooth? :)

The intell 5300 is the WiFi chip not the chipset in the motherboard. They would be really stupid to somehow limit that, I am sure intel still wants to sell wifi boards to people who have AMD based computers.

If it was ethernet I always perfer intel. When it comes to wifi broadcom has a much large chunk of the market at least when you look at what is in rotuers.

A USB nic does not have to be slower. Even USB2 likely not limit actual wifi speeds since you get nowhere near those magic numbers wifi claims. There are lots more USB3 cards on the market.

Still if you perfer a internal card I suspect anything with a PCI/PCIE connection will work in your machine.

Oh I see. Do you think this is okay?
https://www.amazon.ca/TP-Link-TL-WDN4800-Wireless-Express-Adapter/dp/B007GMPZ0A/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1511470643&sr=8-3&keywords=wireless+card

I mean I have a PCI and a PCIE slot. Or should I buy a wireless card that has ac on it? They said this supports ac as well. Seems okay with my router, but I am uncertain.

From what I saw the 802.11ac wireless card was pretty expensive compare to 802.11n. Well this is that I linked is low profile and also very small. Im not sure if it's too expensive, but im looking for a cheaper one possibly under $25 cad. the n300 is 24.99$. I was going to buy the 450mbps but i'm not sure if there is any different between 450 and 300 mbps. But the router to my room is quite far, the Ethernet cable is too short. SO i'll need a wifi card...maybe i'l consider a usb but I think I prefer a wifi card just in case of the distance and speed.
