dual band wireless-AC 7265 Issues with Wifi

I'm having wifi issues with an Intel dual band wireless-AC 7265 adapter and a B90-755025-15 Netgear router, I know n and AC connections aren't compatible exactly. It does have an HT mode and it helped to an extent, I am still getting lags/dropouts in connectivity, it seems to effect the router itself by making the speed lag heavily for anyone using the internet. Pressing the airplane button on and off seems to push things back into order, but that's not a real solution. I also have the latest drivers. This is starting to get annoying.

My router generally has worked just fine with all other connections, it's only when I got this new laptop that I stared having issues. I've heard about problems with the Wireless-AC 7265 and different ways to solve it, they just haven't worked. Is there a way to tell if it's the router or the wifi card? I seem to only experience it when this laptop is on, but that could be misleading.
