I had a 2014 840 EVO. This drive was known to have MANY problems. Samsung issued some "solutions" through the samsung magician program to fix it, but ultimately none of them worked.

Here is a article describing the problem:
https://www.anandtech.com/show/9196/samsung-releases-second-840-evo-fix

They had to release multiple fixes cause this thing was junk.

I've had for almost 3 years. How do I go about getting my warranty replacement? Drive freezes so much it is almost unusable. I've never done this and I don't know how to go about doing it.

I purchased through newegg in 2014.

Do you think they will honor the warranty?

Warranty on 840 EVO is 3 years in UK. If your receipt for the drive is within the 3 year period, then contact Samsung for RMA.
Be prepared, they will wipe the drive so make a backup of your data.
