(Excuse me for my lack of computer knowledge) i just bought a new gpu to better my gaming so ive upgraded from a gtx 650 2gb to a gigabyte gtx 1050 ti 4gb, ive had to upgrade from vga to hdmi and use my tv. The problem is when i boot up my pc with the new gpu installed it wont load past the hp splash screen and when i press esc for the menu to come up it takes me to a black screen with the computer specs on it, no errors display or anything, i get a beep code, my pc usually never beeps on startup put it does once then when its sitting, stuck on the splash screen it beeps short once then pauses then beeps rapidly 3 times again, My computer is a hp pavilion with an intel core i7 proccessor and 4gbs of ram if that helps sorry if i missed anything out

presicly what model do you have, and did it come with the GPU or was it installed after?

I had a HP pavilon with an i5 2400 and wouldn't boot with any gpu expect the one it came with.:/

They lock compatiblity with there mobos.

The model number is p6-2055a, the gtx 650 gpu that still works in my pc was bought and installed after. I also tried updating the bios from the hp website and it looks like ive got the same version, the only thing i can think of is that the power supply might not be strong enough, it does require 300wats minimum and i cant seem to find any information on the power supply

Sorry for the really late reply, I'm really tempted to buy this MOBO but I need to figure out what potential problems I might run into when installing it to my pc, I dont know what will work and what wont, if it makes things easier I can send photos of my pc via whatever social media you want to use, also I know this is probably a stupid question but can I take the CPU from my old mobo and install it to the new one if I buy it or nah, once again sorry I replied so late I kind of gave up on the problem but I've come back to do whatever it takes to get this to work
