Hi Folks - Looking for guidance and feedback on this Ryzen build. Anything obviously missing or askew? Compatability issues? This memory was purchased for my Skylake-X build but I think I am shifting to Ryzen. I see the Ryzen specifications list memory compatibility for DDR4 @ 2667 so curious if this would be an issue? I'm still to select a GPU to see if any good deals drop on Black Friday sales, likley a 1060 6GB or a 1070. I will also be adding a 2nd NIC to bind to the virtulization systems.

The primary use for this will be a workstation, virtual machines, development, and gaming (not at 4k). So looking to strike a balance with this build.

Thanks for the feedback. The M2 is to house the VMs and that workloads will be pretty IO intensive. I have a Synology NAS for longer-term static storage.

I already purchased the RAM for $319 (2x16GB) the G.Skill seems to be a good deal more costly. Any specific reasons for the RAM change? I'm just trying to be an informed buyer. Is this the product you were talking about? https://pcpartpicker.com/product/vntWGX/gskill-memory-f43200c16d32gtza

Thanks again!

The G Skill RAM uses the Samsung B-Die which is better suited to overclocking with Ryzen - it provides a more stable experience than just about anything else you can get. There's a few other modules that use that same B-Die but the G.Skill is the most popular and common that uses it.

He's right about the RAM. I've got a Ryzen 1700x with Corsair Vengence 3000Mhz RAM which is only running at 2667Mhz. Can't get it any higher due to the RAM not playing well with Ryzen. G.Skill seems to be the best choice for OC'd RAM.
