So i have been building a new PC recently (haven't bought any parts yet) it is a budget build and it ended up being 8 dollars under my budget of 700 dollars, but last night i was browsing my local Best Buys internet page and it has a better CPU same GPU same RAM etc.... for only $669.99 if i add this processor and i take out the i3-7100 i will be playing around $760 so is this a better deal for the cost? (also the omen is VR ready)

The HP omens specs

Hard Drive: Capacity 1000 gigabytes
Operating: SystemWindows 10
Processor: Speed (Base)3 gigahertz
Processor: ModelIntel 7th Generation Core i5
System Memory: (RAM)8 gigabytes
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060

I'm no expert, but it looks OK to me except for the power supply. If that's the power supply for ~ £40 I would avoid it. I recently built my first PC and got great advice here about power supplies. It's something I wouldn't cheap out on.

Does it have an SSD, or is that 1TB drive a hybrid at least? I don't see myself ever buying a PC without an SSD - especially those M.2 ones, budget or not :/ The difference in performance/value is just too insane for the minor cost difference.

Thank you all so much or you the help me out there while i was waiting for responses i went and built a pretty good machine for $688 dollars that includes windows 10 with a gtx 1060 still so if you would like to discus this system (involving cpu and other parts) to where you can provide your ideas on the system if you would like

I would build it myself. The satisfaction of doing so is enormous. The others are right, the pre-built might have a cheaper power supply, motherboard etc. Its worth getting good quality parts. Can you post the full specs?

Sadly i am using amazon to build the pc so when i made a new one to try and top the hp omen i had to get rid of parts so this is based off of memory (i’m pretty sure this was the exact system other than RAM speeds)

intel core i3-7100 3.9GHZ
EVGA gtx 1060 3gb
corsair 8gb ram
ROSEWILL case
windows 10
EVGA 500 powersuply
Gigabyte B250-E GAMING (may not be exact but possibly the exact one)
1tb WB HHD

The 3rd or 4th answer is regarding the PSU's, I got great advice there.
