Newly built PC Won't turn on

So, I built a new PC (which I have done many times before) and the PC won't turn on. I've gone through the Tom's Hardware checklist on the troubleshooting boot (twice) and I"m at a loss.

My first problem a day ago was the PC would start up for just a split second before going back down- I found that the power supply was at fault so I got a new one. Before installing the new one in the system, I "breadboxed" the whole thing to test, and everything worked fine. However, now that I've installed it all in the case, it won't even start up for a split second.

I know the GPU at least is still getting power as the power LED (to show that it's plugged in) comes on when I plug the system in. However, there is no other sign of power.

That would be my thought as well, but I tested the power supply before assembling in the case. Additionally, I've now tested with with another power supply that I know works and that still had the same effect- nothing.

Have you tryed to build it outside of the case and see if it works then? mayne you are creating a short circuit you cant see. Like the backside of the mobo touching the mobo tray.

I did try that before assembling inside the case and it worked...I've just tried it again outside the case and now it does not work...so either my power supply or my mobo is dead, and they both worked this morning...

If this possible, change your motherboard to the old one to see if your PC boot. If so, i can say the new mobo is broken.

It's not. However, I'm leaning towards this being the issue.

It should still be able to run it, and even if it couldn't, it's irrelevant as I still have the same problem when the gpu is not installed.
