Need help with broken 1080ti chip

Hey, my friend give me his 1080ti for free to keep if I can fix it. :bounce:

I don't know how he chipped the pins on top of gpu
I was wondering if it fixable to solder it.

those are micro capacitors. a highly skilled electronics repair person with the right equipment could fix it but without even them knowing the correct values of the actual capacitors it prob wont work right.

the repair is just not worth it vs the cost

Hi, the problem may not be there. Is your friend completely sure that he break that caps? Usually you will see damage on the pads when caps are taken off and is common see empty spaces in some of the caps around GPU

I disagree with max, on high end GPUs as a 1080ti you could pay 300€ for of troubleshooting of a technician or engineer and have it running again for less than 1/3 of the cost. I agree that fix GPUs wasn't worthy in the past or in "cheap" cards and some times they are unfixable but I score a gtx480 back in the day that only needed a new fuse.

If you still have the card around i can try to fix it.
