What can the intel i5 7300hq do?

Sure. Chrome sucks the life out of computers, so it will slow things down. Gaming needs most of a CPU if you want the best out of the game.

it can do everything you asked, but that is not the best way to use a computer. So if you do use it that way, accept the results as not being ideal.

If you are buying a new PC. Get one based on coffelake CPUS like the i5-8400 or i5-8600k.

Regardless, get one with good, fast ram at ideally 16gb. And a very good graphics card (1050ti or better)

I bought a computer from ebay with the i5, but idk if the computer was defective or just the i5 is slow as fk. It kept freezing when i tried to download league of legends and browse the internet. Is this normal?

Try re-installing the OS?

If you're not very technical, it should not cost very much for a shop to diagnose it.

How much physical ram do you have and how much is in use? If you have 8gb but 4gb is reserved for the graphics card, you really only have 4gb available.

Have you used cpu-z to see what speed it is running at?

Also chrome is known to be a CPU pig.

Check what speed it is actually running the CPU at. I am wondering if the cooler is working. If it is not, then the CPU is thermal'ing and dropping the CPU speed way down.

100% ram will always slow everything WAY down.

You should figure out what is wrong with this one first. You ran out of memory (this is a problem). You need to confirm that the PC is really hitting full speed with the CPU.

Most of the other things to try were made pointless by you re-installing the operating system.

how many GB is your 1050? Inspiron 15 5000 ? whats the product code?

I think you need to invest in another 8GB of ram.. If you're running the 1050 ti 4GB (nice card, I had one) and your system is set to use the NVIDIA GPU; along with your processes - your RAM is being shot.

Probably DDR4 2400mhz.

Other trouble shoot option. Save all your files to a cloud; wipe the computer and start with a fresh OS.

I think you need the ram tho.
