Msi Gtx 1060 6gb x gaming. Power cable

Hello. I have an issue if any one can help
My system is

Intel i5-7400
500 watt with 2 fans
8gb ddr4 ram
1 ssd drive
2 hard drive 1tb and 500gb
Asrock h110m hdv 3.0
Cpu coolmaster 1 fan

I bought a 1060 and when i connected it it said shut down and connect pcie power cable. My power supply only has 6 pin. The card needs 8. I connect my 6pin it turns on and flashes and spins but the screen is black and it says connect pcie power . Do i need a new power supply ?

You dont need a new power supply, your psu is strong enought to support a gtx 1060 and an i5. From what i see a gtx 1060 gaming X has a 6 pin and a 8 pin, your psu has 2x6 pin? If so you only need the adaptor from 6 to 8 pin, if your psu has only 1x6 pin then you need molex to 8 pin or sata to 8pin, you got all the possible suggestions below depending on what you need.
