External 2.5" HDD not getting enough power anymore

I have a 1TB Seagate external 2.5" HDD that used to work fine. I don't know what happened to it, but now it doesn't come up anywhere on the computer (Including device manager). When I plug it into the USB to SATA adapter, it starts beeping for for about 5 seconds, then stops. I've had a look around on the internet, and apparently this means that the drive isn't getting enough power.

I've tried plugging it into my desktop instead of the built in 3.5", and I still get the same beeping. I can't see any obvious damage.

Does anyone know where the fault might be, and weather I can just fix/replace the motherboard section, or open it up and try to fix it from there.
I would like to keep the content of the drive, but it is no loss if it can't be recovered. The drive has been dead for a long time, and any issues with lost data has been dealt with. I mainly want to rescue the drive for the 1TB of storage for personal use or selling. So I would preferably like to do it without spending too much money, if any at all.

Thanks in advance

Sorry to hear that your drive has stopped working! In situations like yours, especially where the data itself is not critical or you've already figured out, as you said, it is best to just buy a new drive, because at this point, the method people try to revive those drives with is tracking down another drive of the same model with the same components and replacing the board you mentioned, called a PCB, in order to see if they can salvage the data. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, however it wouldn't make sense if you're already buying a drive to try this with the old one, so it's probably time to just buy a new one and use that.

If you think the drive may still be in warranty, you can check this using our Warranty Validation Tool.
