OK, I've looked through these forums and read everything I could in the problem to no avail, I'm out of ideas now.

What started as a supposedly easy case transfer has ended up a nightmare. Now when I power up my PC I get the error message "the current bios setting do not fully support the boot device". This happens with no hard drives plugged in as well as them being plugged in. I've reset the cmos by removing the battery, also replaced the battery, and used the CLRTC jumper too.

I've tried updating the bios using the Asus EZ flash 2 utility, but when I get to install the update from a USB drive I get some kind of verification error.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

I would check Bios version as the motherboard spec indicate to use an FX6300 you must have bios no. 1006 ref: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/M5A97_LE_R20/HelpDesk_CPU/
