When I play some games with an nvidia 1060, there are moments when the game seems to stop for a split second. I guess you would call it stuttering not sure. This doesn't happen in for example witcher 3. But it does happen in older games e.g. from 2010 and also some newer ones too eg. 2014.

I am guessing this is a software issue. Regardless it is annoying lol.

What can I do to remedy it?

Solution
There are so many things can cause stutter problems.
Older games doesn't have any optimisation for newer hardwares. So it can cause stuttering.
Some newer games also have optimisation issues. Mafia 3, GTA IV, Crysis series etc.

Thanks for reply. I found that Tom clancys rainbow six siege stuttering on the 10 series was solved by turning off PhysX in the nvidia control panel so that physics is done by the CPU.

On an older game, the stuttering remained, it might be different, i dont know.
