Hi Guys, im running on a intel 4790, i want to upgrade to a ryzen 1800x( i know all the extras like getting a new motherboard and ram) but is it a good upgrade from my cpu, or will a new intel cpu be better in the end.
Ive checked online, watched multiple youtube vids but still dont know which CPU to choose.

i need a straight answer.

Mass effect scales pretty badly with sli so even with a second 1070 you wouldn't get to 60fps.

Sell your 1070 while gpu demand is high and get a 1080ti for the best 4k experience.

The i7-4790 is still a top CPU in 2017. Like Finstar mentioned, particularly if It's for gaming there's pretty much no point in investing in all that new hardware currently.

What's your GPU?

At higher resolutions particularly the GPU is far more important. Upgrading the CPU wouldn't help.
