Recently I bought an Oculus Rift. Then I bought a new graphics card (EVGA GTX 1060 SC) to replace the Quadro K2200 inside my old PC. Initially I replaced the card, and the computer displayed the windows logo in 800x600 resolution. Then I swapped to the old graphics card, and keeping the GTX 1060 connected, I installed the drivers - which worked ok. Then removed the old graphics card and it loaded up with windows for a few seconds, then screen disconnected again. Went back to connecting both cards and it detected both cards. I uninstalled the Quadros drivers and still no luck, but rendered the Quadro useless - doesn't matter as I am replacing it - but the only graphics that would work were the onboard ones. My Question is: Can I get the GTX 1060 to work? (If it helps the oculus works when connected to the output from the graphics card, but the screen still doesn't)

Solution
Your motherboard make/model? Your CPU? What kind of inputs does your monitor have and how are you connecting it(DVI/VGA/HDMI)?

I'd start from scratch. Using integrated graphics, uninstall all Nvidia videocard drivers. Then download the latest Nvidia drivers for the 1060. Then shut the computer down and install the card, don't forget to connect the pci-ex connector to the power supply. Then connect the monitor to the 1060 and boot up. You should get to Windows using the generic driver. Once there, install the Nvidia driver you downloaded earlier.
