Hi all. Recently upgraded from 8gb to 16gb RAM (also upgraded to a Hyper 212 Evo cpu cooler) and have been experiencing really severe FPS drops in BF1 (low, medium and high settings). Will run at 60fps and then drop to around 18fps regularly for 5-10 seconds.
My temperatures look fine (averaging around 48c while playing). What I have noticed is that when I do drop frames the CPU utilization drops from 100% to 34% in Task Manager, and the clock speed drops from 4117mhz to 1405mhz. Don't really know where to start diagnosing this as I'm pretty new to pc building and hardware and everything.
PC specs are:
Mobo: M5A78L-M/USB3
CPU: AMD fx-8350
RAM: Kingston HYPERX FURY BLACK 16GB (2X8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C10 1600MHZ DUAL CHANNEL
HDD: SEAGATE ST500DM002
GPU: GTX 1060 6GB
Before the RAM and cooling upgrade bf1 was crashing and I was having an issue with regular BSODs, and running temperatures in the upper 60's, but frames stayed pretty consistent. Am I missing something really obvious? I've looked through the BIOS but I'm not entirely sure what I should be looking for. Should I go for a fresh install of my OS?
I'd really appreciate any help you guys could give me, even if it is to point a n00b mistake and give out to me!
Have since tried playing bf4 and Ghost Recon Wildlands and have run into the exact same problem. Anyone out there?
Anyone?
