Hey Everyone,

Thanks in advance for your help.

I have an HP Laptop and am trying to run DBAN in order to wipe my computer.

I am having an issue, though.

My computer is not recognizing the USB that has DBAN on it. And before you ask... I downloaded DBAN and used Rufus to convert it to a bootable disk. When I get to the boot menu the usb is simply not there. I have turned off Secure Boot and Legacy Support. I have tried downloading DBAN again, creating DBAN again through Rufus and using different USB's, all with no luck.

I would greatly appreciate any help/advice that you have.

Thanks again.

Solution
Did you use MBR or GPT as your partition type? If you used MBR try GPT, and vise-versa.

Just went through similar pain with one of my gigabyte boards, it HAD to use GPT while all my other boards are just fine with MBR.
