I am planning to get a mouse along with my gaming pc and was wondering which mouse I should go for? I can't decide as the Razer lancehead looks simple and has a little more rgb but the proteus core g502 had many people changing to it and it has 11 buttons compared to the lanceheads 9. Does it really matter, because it is my first gaming mouse?

It really doesn't matter, both have similar features and are fully customize able with the software each has.
