So I bought the x52 to cool my i5 7600k. Although after strictly following the instructions Temls start at 50 degrees in the bios and rise until 90ish where the system then shuts down due to overheating. Havent been able to load windows yet.

Im using an asus tuf z270 motherboard and have tried using the pump 3 pin header into both the cpu fan and aio pump headers to which neither help. Sits at 2500rpm on cpu fan header, 3000rpm on aio header but still high temps.

There are 2 cpu headers on this motherboard but i used the main one.

Also there is a trickling sound, which i assume i should hear, of the water running but again radiator is cold whilst cpu is up at 90 degrees.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Block is attached correctly, the instructions for the x52 said to attach to the cpu fan header althoigh i tried it and the aio pump header same results were it overheats. I used the pre applied thermal paste on the aio. Also of i plug into the aio pump header the system wont boot due to (No cpu fan detected)

Update: applied new thermal paste and same deal

Well I dont think there is anything wrong with the AIO by the simple fact that the temp rises so fast that you cant even get into windows before the CPU reach the temp max and shuts the system down.

Do you have enough time to get into bios and look at what kind of volts you are running to the CPU? cause if that is for some odd reason set to an insane amount this can happen. (but again this is not likely either)

Do you have a buddy or something that would be so kind to lend you his cooler that would fit your CPU socket? An aircooler would be the best since even if you dont have a fan running you should get 5 - 15 min running time before the CPU hits temp max. More than enough time to get into windows or atleast mess around in BIOS to look at setting alittle.
