Hey guys,
I didn't insert the ram correctly, all the way to the bottom and I fried my motherboard, in like a matter of seconds smoke came out of it.
Thing is, I went with the remaining pc to a service and they told me they tested hdd, psu, mb, (hdd and psu were ok) and mb was fried.
They didn't test my cpu tough, and now I'm wondering what are the odds that it is also damaged as the mb is. A friend of mine told me that If the cpu looks allright and doesn't have burnt pins should be allright, and mine doesn't show any visual damages. What do you guys think of this? anyone experienced similar situations? if you fried your mb did the cpu die with it?

Solution
It would be hard to know, but if it doesn't show any signs of being burnt or melted it might be okay, I remember I used to run my i5 4690k while streaming at around 95 degrees Celsius like a moron before i got a custom cpu cooler (stock coolers suck by the way).
