I have an gtx 750 ti oc 4gb , but i dont know what to choose between fx 6300 and fx 8300 . i want to play new games on high settings , and to have atleast 40-45 fps in them . Can you guys, please tell me your opinion ?

Solution
agree with above unless you already have a AM3+ motherboard and stuff and is getting the cpu for $15-20 bucks i would just save for a new build. buying a new 6300/8350 now would not be of value.

i do not fully agree with above as i game on a 8350 in 2017 and it works but i only do 1080p/60FPS and i don't care about max settings...im just saying it depends on how much its going to cost you in $$$ vs what you could spend on just a new build

I agree, as far as gaming performance goes those two will perform similarly at the same clock speed.

I would not recommend anyone invest in a FX CPU in 2017, they are 7 years old and on a dead platform with no upgrade path.

If you are on a budget I would look at an 8th gen intel i3 or a Ryzen 1300x.

Also at say 1080p, you wont be playing really any new games at high settings with a 750 ti and get decent framerates, regardless of your CPU.

What about an ASRock 970 PRO3 R2.0 ? The TDP of both cpus is 95W .

I think what they meant by saying your mobo only supports 95W CPUs is that although either of those CPUs is supported, you won't be able to do much if any overclocking which could have helped make up for the mediocre performance of FX CPUs.

What about that ASRock mobo? If you're asking if you should buy it, no. As already said multiple times, AM3+ is a dead platform and it's not a good idea to sink money into it in 2017. If all you need is a CPU that's one thing, but if you're thinking of replacing both the CPU and mobo you should really just get some DDR4 while you're at it and get a modern Intel (LGA1151) or AMD (AM4) platform.
