All I play is fifa. My current system is

Intel core i7 7700k
Asus maximus ix formula
evga gtx 770
120 gb ssd
1tb hdd

Is this system too much overkill? Plus fifa crashes and freezes. Would I be better of just usinga pc for work and console for playing fifa?

It's overkill in the sense that Fifa will run on much less..... but it should give you a great experience.

Unless you already own a console, I'd suggest we identify the reasons for crashes/freezes and fix that issue.


Please post you full spec, including RAM and PSU.

What case do you have? What does airflow look like?

Did you perform a clean OS install of your OS when you got the 7700K + Board? Or is this an old OS install from a prior setup?

Are you monitoring temps? CPU, GPU, potentially motherboard VRM temps.

Do you have the latest GPU drivers installed?

If temps look ok (and it's a relatively clean OS install), I'd suggest fully removing display drivers with DDU in safemode, then reinstalling the latest...
