Can I upgrade from an i7 6700 to an i7 6700k?

I’m not sure if it will work well but is it possible for me to use the same motherboard and upgrade from an i7 6700 to an i7 6700k?!?

Just about every board supports the 6700k it's just a higher clock speed and a little more voltage for 4.2ghz. Look up your boards model# on the manufacturers website for the CPU support list.

The only logical and budgetary reason(s) it's worth to upgrade, is if you plan to OC AND if your motherboard supports OC'ing. If you answer no to one or both, then keep your money or funnel it towards another component upgrade within your system.
