So im planning on upgrading to a gtx 1070, i7 7700k, and 16gb of ddr 4 ram. After checking compatibility with my current motherboard for each component, I figured im gonna need to buy a new one. I would rather not spend too much more money on my pc so i found a cheap one (Link below). I checked and saw it would be compatible with all of my desired components but why is it so cheap compared to the other motherboards. Is there a catch to this?

NOTE: I do not plan on upgrading ANY time soon after these purchases.

The catch is, its a Skylake chipset that you are trying to pair with a Kabylake processor and its not overclockable as well, while the 7700k is.
It is compatible after a BIOS update, but you need a Skylake cpu to actually update the BIOS of that motherboard before you can use that Kabylake 7700k cpu with that board.
Now, some of the latest batches of those boards comes with the BIOS updated, but it is not guaranteed to come with the latest BIOS installed.

Read the reviews on that board from your link that will tell you something. When you buy cheap you get cheap.
Your spending close to 900 bucks on parts and going to put them in a 40 buck motherboard that might and might not work without a BIOS update.
At least buy a decent board.

Understood; I found another mother board (Link Below). I put all of my desired components in pcpartpicker.com (Link Below) along with the new mother board and it says they are all compatible with no issues. Am I good with this new motherboard? Or do I have the same problem?

Yes, b250 boards are compatible out of the box. You should be good now.
Cheers...
