Correct me if "deadlock" is not the right term, but randomly my PC's screen would freeze as it is, no blue screen errorr and sometimes with buzzing from the speakers. The mouse and keyboard freeze too (Caps or Num light won't turn on or off) and I am forced to restart it by holding the button, then I can turn it on as normal. Usually it's while I'm in the middle of playing a game but sometimes just 3 mins after startup, and it's not overheating. I've tried almost everything; Disk check, troubleshooting, memory diagnostics, looking on BIOS (though not really sure what to look for), even a complete reset, which gave an error message "could not reset, no changes were made". Starting to think it's a hardware issue but not sure.

Specs:
CPU: AMD Athlon X4 (plan to upgrade to AMD Ryzen 5 1600)
GPU: Gigabyte Nvidia GTX 960
Motherboard: Gigabyte F2A78M-HD2 (Plan to upgrade to Asus - PRIME B350-PLUS ATX AM4)
RAM: Ballistix Tactical 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR3
HDD: 1x 1TB, 1x 3TB
PSU: Corsair VS550
Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212x

Have you flashed (updated) your BIOS/UEFI? Do some research on your motherboard and see if you can flash it straight from the UEFI over the internet. If not, download the UEFI/BIOS update to a flash drive and update it via that method.

I checked for updates but there is none available for my motherboard other than a Beta. However checking the website for Gigabyte there is a Rev 3.0 and Rev 3.1 version of my motherboard. The latter has later updates but I'm not sure it'll work with mine.
