Graphics card does not work for easy to run games

Hello,

My AMD Radeon RX 580 4gb does not activate and work when I play an easy to run game like csgo or total war. I can tell the graphics card is off because the easy to run game is lagging at certain times when I can run PUBG smoothly, and the graphics card isn't spinning.

I think this is because I got my computer pre built from Best Buy (It had great reviews and was WAY cheaper than building it myself) and the computer may have a setting that turns off the graphics card when it is not needed, like when you are browsing the internet or playing an easy to run game.

If anyone could give me a simple solution to how I can activate my graphics card for the games it doesn't run on, please tell me.

Thank you, the help is very appreciated.

If you download and install a program like MSI Afterburner(free) then it will tell you onscreen while you play among other things, which videocard you're using. This will verify for you what is being used.

Make/model of the computer will help, CPU and motherboard if you know it. Also, the monitor should be connected to the card, not the motherboard graphics. This makes it impossible for you to be using the motherboard graphics.

Ok I installed MSI Afterburner, what do I do in it to always have my graphics card on for all my games?

Idk why you want the model of my computer but this is it:

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/cyberpowerpc-gamer-ultra-d...

It also lists all the components in it. And yes the monitor is connected to the card.

My point on mentioning connecting the monitor to the card was that if the card is connected to the monitor, and you're getting an image on the monitor, the card is 'activated'. I wanted to know make and model to see if you even have integrated graphics. So your card is working and your computer is using it.

MSI Afterburner will display onscreen information about the card you are using. So when you run a game it will tell you the name of the graphics card running the game, the GPU in other words. If you see '580' listed there you will know it is using the card.

The driver, ONE driver, you need is from AMD's website. It will be the latest for the RX 580 line of videocards, for Windows 10 since that's what you have. Since that's a pre-built computer, check to see if Cyberpower included a utility to scan for updates and install them. Some companies do that. That would be the best way to keep it up to date if they included such a utility.

As far as other games lagging, what games? What do you mean by 'lagging'?

I will install those drivers, but all I simply need is a way to always have my graphics card turned on when I play all of my games.
