Hello, I'm brand new here and looking for advice. I don't know a ton about computer hardware, so any help is appreciated. I'm looking to upgrade my GPU to a 1080, however I don't know if my current components are compatible with 1080s. Also I see there are a ton of different producers for the 1080, so which is best?
I'm also thinking about getting an additional monitor in the future, so should I get two new ones that will work best with the 1080, or keep my current one and buy a different model?

Any input is appreciated!

Current Build:
GPU: AMD Radeon R9 290X
CPU: i7-4790
Motherboard: ASRock Z97 Extreme 3
PSU: 750 Watt
RAM: 16 gbs Vengence Pro Series, DDR3, 2133Mhz
Monitor: LG 22M34 22"

Solution
Physically you should be okay, available slot on the mobo and your PSU should have plenty of power. From a performance standpoint the CPU will slightly bottleneck the GTX 1080 in demanding situations but not enough to stop from buying the GTX 1080. Do not see value though in going for a GTX 1080 Ti.

Your current monitor is a TN based, 5ms access time, 60Hz 22" LED monitor. A basic budget monitor. Doesn't really match the performance of the 1080, I would be looking for a much better model. Whether you get two new ones or just buy a good one for gaming and keep the current one for low performance tasks is somewhat up to you.
