Hello,

I have Corsair 8gb 2133mhz cl15 ram. And the ram code is : CMV8GX4M1A2133C15

So, I am going to buy this ram : CT8G4DFS8213 (Crucial 8gb 2133mhz cl15)

is Crucial ram compatible with my corsair ? Should I buy it ?

thanks.

Solution
Yes, it should be compatible. The specs for these 2 sticks of ram are as close to identical as your going to get. Both are DDR4 PC4-17000 (2133MHz), 1.2 volts and CL 15. The only way to get any closer is to buy 2 matching sticks.

If you are asking, if you buy a Threadripper motherboard will you be able to reuse the DDR4 ram sticks from a previous build, the answer is yes. There i nothing different about the memory Threadripper uses. The fact that it runs in quad channel as well as dual has nothing to do with the ram sticks, just the X399 chipset.

Threadripper uses 288pin DDR4 Non-ECC 1.2volts or 1.35volts [both voltages work]
