Unfortunately prices are not set to decline until 2019 and are suppose to continue to increase until end of 2018. Its crazy last summer I built an I7 5820 system for a friend and he wanted to go all out for his gaming rig and opted for 64 gigs of ram. He paid $144.89 Canadian per 32 gig kit for a total of $289.78 for 64 gigs total in July 2016. This summer I upgraded to a Ryzen 7 system and I paid $ $168 Canadian for 1x16 gig stick my 32 gig kit cost me $336.00 total !! Last week I checked on the same G.skill kit maybe considering to snatch up another 32 gig kit if they were cheap, to my surprise the sticks were selling for $254.99
Canadian each !!! WTF !! Get your ram now even if you can just afford 1 stick of 8 or 1 stick of 16 and run in single channel , when prices drop grab another stick. That's what I'm going to do, and before anyone says I don't need 64 gigs of ram , I do 3D modeling and need the extra ram for software. I overpaid this summer but I'm glad I got them when I did just to avoid the current pricing. The sticks are on sale now for black Friday $199.99. Ram is just going to continue to increase. I personally think its price fixing but what can I say , I don't have any proof.
That's an article talking about ram prices only dropping in 2019
