Hello, recently I purchased and installed the Gigabyte GTX 1060 6GB, and I don't believe it's working properly. After I replaced my old graphics card, an Intel(R) HD Graphics 530, I have seen barely any increase in performance. I might not have properly installed the card, I didn't uninstall the old graphics card's drivers, and i've heard this can cause problems and I'm wondering if this is the problem.

Another reason that I belive there is a problem is that I don't think my computer is recognising the new card. I looked up how to select my new graphics card and found out about the NVIDIA Control Panel. When I tried to open it I got a message that read 'You are not currently using a display attached to an NVIDIA GPU.' I checked online and I found that my display may be plugged into the wrong port on my PC, but I don't know how to check this.

If i check my system specifications it says that my GPU is my old one. Thanks in advance for any help provided.

Solution
Okay so do this Use the DDU uninstaller and uninstalled the Current Nvidia Drivers
Now the GPU should be In the PCI-E slot of your motherboard and the Monitor input cable weather the DVi or HDMI connec it with the back of your GPU (GTX 1060) Ports
Provide a Power to your GPU its 6Pin Port Your PSU has that or it can be 8 on some GTX 1060's
boot your system if you see the display then yea the GPU is connected properly its time to install the drivers

Solution
It does sound like you have your monitor plugged into the motherboard video out & not the 1060.

It needs to be plugged directly into the back of the gpu itself.

As in one of the sockets below
