Looking to upgrade from my current computer, except this time, build it myself (which is not something I have done before). The PC will be used primarily for gaming. No preference on brands. Trying not to spend too much money (budget around 1000-1200$). Any advice towards the parts I have chosen so far and/or the process of actually building it is very much appreciated. Thank you!

Side note: Should I bother with an optical drive?
