My son and I built this system over a year ago as an entry level gaming rig and it’s been great. He’s recently starting to play PUBG and we’d like to bump the FPS up a bit. I haven’t been keeping up with cards and prices since we built his systems, is $150 with current NewEgg Black Friday deals something that will give us a modest boost?

Not really, the 860K/GTX 950 is a good budget combo but the issue lies with PUBG as it's still a early access game (exiting some time in Decemeber) and still needs some more performance patches before it runs smooth.
