Hi. I've gone through a lot of threads on this problem already but I did not find any solution. So my problem is that my GPU recently started to give me black screen after Starting Windows screen at startup. It started to occut after my PC crashed.. probably due to GPU, the image on monitor froze and there was some kind of distortion, so I had to power off PC by holding power button. Now I've tried some things, safe mode lets me get to Windows and remove the driver for GPU... then I can get to Win via normal mode but it detects and installs the driver again leaving me with black screen after restart again.

I bought new HDDs and SSD where I installed Win7 again.. right after the installation I installed the GPU drivers right from the CD that was added to the GPU.... result was black screen again.... darn.

So my guess is it's damaged GPU or whatever when it has problems with clean Windows with absolutely no other programs....

Now.. is there even a solution for this? All answers ale welcome. Thanks!

Hm try older drivers. If older drivers doesn't work, go to MY PC, properties, Advanced system settings, goto hardware tab and select Device installation settings.
I'm on Windows 10 soo just click NO.(Soo that Windows doesnt install drivers again maybe it thinks its EG. 7870?)

PS. Have you tried updating Windows? Does gpu work without drivers?

Yeah it works without drivers. If I remember correctly the old windows where it first happened was updated, but I can try updating the fresh installed and then install drivers. And I'll look into your suggestion as soon as I get home but I'm not sure if it will work. The thing I tried was in Device manager - "banning" the GPU device drivers but it installed them automatically anyway.. I'm not sure if that was smart move or whatever, but I tried...
