Hi Everyone,

I just got a new 4K monitor (Samsung UH750 28") - mostly for my PC but I do also hook up a Mac Mini that I use from time to time.

When hooked up to the Mac Mini on HDMI-1, I get a picture but its stuck at 1080P and I cant select any higher resolutions.

My Mac Mini is a late 2012 with an Intel HD 4000 graphics card.

Is it possible to get above 1080P or is that my ceiling?

Thanks.

BW

Solution
The 2012 model requires some tweaking and installing the software called SwitchResX, in order to achieve 4K from the HDMI output. However, if you use your Thunderbolt(Mini DisplayPort) connection.. that will output to 4K. If your monitor does not have a DisplayPort connection on it, you can use a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter. They usually start around $10.
