EVGA vs MSI

So I missed the Newegg sale on the EVGA GTX 1080 SC2 and I'm really trying to keep my budget as close to the $500 mark as I can and it seems the Gigabyte 1080 is also sold out now. So I've come down to two options. The MSI Gaming X 1080 for sale on Newegg right now before it sells out as well, or buying a B-Stock EVGA GTX 1080 FTW. If it were you, which would you choose? I'm going for a white/black color scheme so the EVGA wouldn't effect it nearly as much as the red and black of the MSI, but if the MSI is better in any way I will make due. However I also want a backplate on the graphics card so that rules out the MSI Armor as well

Since your not trying to go over $500 why not look at the GTX 1070 ti? It performs similar to the 1080 for a little bit cheaper. This MSI 1070 ti Duke has 3 fans for good cooling and a backplate.

Review (slightly different model but performance would be very close).

It’s not that I’m not trying to break $500 I’m just trying to stay close to $500-$550 and as close as the prices are I think it would be more worth it to spend slightly extra to get a 1080

Well between the two you mentioned earlier I'd go with the MSI as the cooling is a bit better and it would actually be brand new instead of a refurbish (b-stock). You could probably paint the red white to get the right cooler.

This card is a bit more but the Asus Strix is really nice, triple fans, all black and a backplate.

Actually found a brand new on Newegg EVGA 1080 FTW2 for the same price as the Asus ROG that you recommended. (The Asus was sold out so jumped on the brand new EVGA) thanks for the help though
