My old laptop broke down but hard disc is fine. I bought an new laptop but problem is that in my old laptop hard disc I had many stuffs. Now does it work if i put my old hard disc in my new laptop? I don't care if i have to reinstall windows I just care for my projects stored there.

Solution
1. No, it's not going to work. You're going to have to install your programs on your new laptop's boot drive.

2. Now you can copy personal data files, audio-visual files, and all such other non-program data from the old laptop's drive to the new laptop drive as long as the new laptop drive has sufficient disk-space capacity to contain those files. In order to do so you will have to connect the old laptop drive to the new laptop as a USB external drive and copy those files through that means. Capiche?

I'm not sure about laptops, but In a desktop you can connect a new Hard Drive to the computer and it will work, you don't have to reinstall windows or anything like that. However, I do not know about a laptop.

Hope this helped!
