I bought an hp prebuilt pc with a 200w psu, and i want to add a gpu. Namely, the GT 1030. i put all my specs onto pcpartpicker, and the total wattage, including the gpu, came to 168 watts. However, when i checked the official nvidia website for details on the GT1030, it said you need at least a 300w psu. I am just wondering if the graphics card can work with my psu, or if i should just ditch the idea of buying a graphics card.

Solution
The 300W power supply should be efficient enough to run the graphics card. However, it might not be. I would recommend getting a larger PSU (450W) if you're going to upgrade your GPU. The 450B from EVGA is only about 50USD.

Hope I Helped!
