So ive decided to give this a go since im having severe fps problems in bf1 on my new gtx 1070. Is there any easy way to do this? I only got a 500w psu but its 80+ gold. Also my old 770 took way more power then the 1070 so i think i have so headroom for the volts. What do i press what do i do, guide me?!? :D

I can make suggestions, but to further help you I need precise answers to my question before suggesting a method, if you could answer those questions it will make things easier;

we already know you have an Intel i5-4690K Cpu and a gigabyte z97 gaming 3

1. can you tell if your gigabyte z97 gaming 3 is revision 1.0 or 1.1 (should be marked on the motherboard itself)
2. make and model of your ram
3. make and model of your power supply

motherboard: reboot In bios and look it up, or better yet, run SPECCY (https://www.piriform.com/speccy/download/standard) it will show in the CPU section what revision it should be

Motherboard manual can be viewed: http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_ga-z97x-gaming3_e.pdf

The power supply worries me for an overclocking, why, it is not a great power supply to overclock on.
So that known you have to understand if you run into problems (i.e. pc will no longer boot because of PC OC or reboots when you try to run a game the overclocking causing stress on cpu or pushing the limitation of what your cpu can handle will be the cause and easiest way will be to reset the Cmos by removing power to pc and pulling the motherboard battery for 5 mins then applying battery and power back on, and trying again.

This can be a tedious method to find out you only can get 0.2GHZ out of your cpu, which will in the end provide you maybe only with 1 fps of performance.

now you understand this, go look at this video and review it like 5 times before you do anything

its only thing that speccy gives me, ive looked everywhere. yeah im a bit affraid of messing with this, ive been thinking to upgrade my ram from 8 to 16 and see if this helps instead. Tbh I do notice all of my games my cpu is at 100%, like andromeda which is also getting drops under 60fps at ultra
