I'm looking for a modern motherboard that good enough for Win 10 and supporting the first generation PCI Express board

Solution
I believe PCIE is fully back-ward compatible meaning you can plug your Gen1 PCIE card into even a Gen3 PCIE slot and it will work, with full Gen1 capability. So that means you could choose from most any modern MB. But the more difficult problem may be getting Win10 compatible drivers if your card is 'antique', so to speak, and needs driver support.

PCIE is very flexible. You can even plug an x1 card in an x16 slot and it works, or an x16 card in an x1 slot (assuming the connector is open-ended and there's clear space on the motherboard) and it will work, but at x1 speed.
