Is the I3 7100 and the Prime B250M-C worth it for $200 CAD?

Going to be playing CSGO mainly and a bit of pubg, going to be getting a gtx 1050 as a gpu, will i get enough fps from this processor?

Solution

There is nothing wrong with your motherboard. It is an entry level board that will match a 7100 just fine. But it does not support overclocking. So if you want to buy an unlocked chip, the board wont be able to overclock it. Since the 7100 is locked, it really does not matter.

If you are planning on getting an unlocked CPU one day, you may want to consider a "Z" board. But "Z" boards cost more and may not be worth the additional cost.

Yea it is 75 bucks, tbh is there an I5 i should maybe purchase, such as an i5 4600 or will i get the same amount of fps as i do with a i3 7100

An i5 4600 will do better than a i3 7100. But you will need a different motherboard and it will use ddr3 RAM instead of ddr4. The better option in my opinion would be looking for a i5 6500/7500. You may be able to find a good deal on one right now because the 8th gen CPUs were just released.

You may also want to look at AMD. The R3 1200 is a good little CPU and when it is overclocked, it can beat the 7100 in a lot of games.
