My 2nd hard drive is what has all my games on it. I couldn't get one game to work and I've seem to messed some file pathways up. I figure fresh every thing will work cause frankly i'm tired of messing around with patching things back. It said it wouldn't let me format it cause there is a system partition on it. I don't recall ever putting one on it. I had just got the damn system to recognize it was even installed.

Bootloader currently is located on your drive E: . That's why you can't format it.
Why do we need pics? Because picture says more than 1000 words. ;)

Let's try this:
1st disconnect your 1TB drive and try booting your system.
It it boots fine, then change boot priority in BIOS, so that system boots from your 250GB drive instead
(after reconnecting 1TB drive).
After that you'll be able to format your E: drive.

If it doesn't boot, you'll have to fix bootloader on your 250GB drive.

its been a long day. I went out and bought win 10 home. when I upgraded to win 10 over digital download via internet it uprageded my win 7 64 bit to win 1o 32. support at Microsoft said the architecture wouldn't alow that. Sure whatever. I had flipped the os vr so much I lost win 7 and when I tried to get it back it said it was factory installed and to call those guys. MSI. well last time I called msi I couldn't understand any of them like I couldn't Microsoft support. Any ways with win 10 loaded and got every thing clean before ...still put the boot back on the bigger hard drive.... trial and error. I go to the msi site to get the drivers for the mother board or the live update 5 or 6 and I am looking at the specs and it dosent say it supports win 10.... maybe that's why I had so much trouble when it first came out to upgrade to it? I switched threads cause I thought this was a different topic. and with so many questions....idk

There was no need to purchase another windows license. The old license is tied to your hardware and registered onto MS servers.
You just had to reinstall windows 10 same version (home or pro) and press "skip", when asked for install key. And architecture doesn't matter (32bit or 64bit) - license is the same.

Money well spent. Congrats. ;)

yeah well when I went to account it said I hadn't registered the last vr of windows...so from me knowing I had win 7 64 bit to Microsoft downloading win 10 32 bit then me using my other pc win 10 to reinstall 64 bit stuff got tossed. And i'm up in the air on buying a win 7 cause I cant get help on finding out how many more issues will arise with running it on this mother board. So I went ahead and switched boot order and that all worked fine...sept now my second hard drive wont show up..... maybe that's the reason it was set up like it was?

I tried to reinstall the win 7 after finding the key but it then asked me to contact msi... last time I talked to them the guy was yelling at me even tho I kept telling him I couldn't understand him. yelling into a phone does zero good if you want to be understood.

...did a storage pool? got 2nd hard drive up but ....I really don't like win 10 now. on my new pc its okay but this whole day wasted on wipe after wipe cause upgrade did me wrong...but sense the mother board spec didn't say it supported win 10...maybe that's why they gave me 32 bit?

ah I think I went with pro...not sure. but my mother board specs when I looked it up on msi web site dosnt say it does or dosent support win 10... so far the edge browser has more hang ups than firefox that I used in win 7. DDo , a game launched from steam, wouldn't work right unless I went to Microsoft and downloaded direct x 9 and up. its an older game. Came out around the time wow did.

https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/760GM-P34-FX.html I just put in a new cpu. I messed up a while ago and didn't get the 95 w one. this time I got the right fx but its making sounds like the last new one. Like its ratteling or sizzling. ddo played fine and it seems to make more noise while just on windows.
