Today I was trying to link my ps4 controller to my pc, and was accidentally powering on my ps4 from rest mode, dispite the warning not to unplug while the console was still on I did it anyways. Now I plugged it back in and accidentally turned it on again, and again I unplugged it. After this when I plug it in it beeps 3 times and refuses to turn on. Everything was working fine before this. I think I damaged the HDD, and believe that replacing it would fix the issue. I just would like a second opinion. Thanks

Hey, I put the new HDD in and I cant even get the playstation to boot to install the new os, I get no response from the power button or eject button. The only response I get from the system is when I plug it in, it beeps 3 times. No response after that. I believe now that it may be that I fried the mobo, in which case I need to get a new one.

Hi,

I found this thread. Generally I would try these two points:

  • Turn off the PS4. Unplug from the rear.
Now, press the power button on the front of the console (top button) and you will hear it beep. Keep pressing it until it stops beeping. Now plug it back in and turn it on.

Your ps4 is trying to eject even when its off due to electrical discharge. To fix this you have to push up on the bottom of the buttons, both the power button and eject button on the front, from underneath, to create space with the gold lever inside. I use a fork. Make a lot of space in between and it'll stop happening.
