I'm having trouble getting usable (not perfect, just usable) internet speeds for gaming.
I have a MacBookPro I use for work and a CPU I use for gaming. My internet setup is an Xfinity bundle modem/router with a netgear Nighthawk router connected via ethernet
and setup as an access point.
I have a TP-Link N900 wireless adapter for my CPU. I've also tried sharing the wifi connection through the Mac with a USB.3 to Ether (10/100/1000) to the CPU.
Speed tests (mbps) -
Mac (wifi) - 15down/4up
CPU (wifi) - .5down/.1up
Mac while tethered - .7down/.4upd
CPU while tethered - .6down/.2up
I have the latest driver for both the Ethernet adapter and the Wireless adapter in the PC. The ether cable is good, will get 75 mbps at over other connections.
I am not using a wired connection because the router is unaccessible via hard line and my "helpful" landlords are spawned from h***.
Please help!
