So What is the difference between the corsair cx650 and cx650m besides one being modular?

Heard alot of people say that these are the remake of the green labeled cx series with improved internals like Japanese capacitor. So my question is can this handle a ryzen 5 1600 with 1060 as i plan to upgrade in year or so

only problem is that is out of stock and I don't know when it'll be in stock or if it will be by christmas

If it was me I would add it, I am sure it will be back in stock and you will get the sale price.

The TX650M is a very good PSU.

it's just that I read online and there's people saying they never got an item or it took several months and i'm able to get the cx650 locally so if faulty I can return to the store

If it was me spending my money I wouldn't buy a CX650, but it's up to you.

so is the cx650 better than corsair vs650 as I bought on amazon only to read more reviews online saying the vs is shit and shouldn't be used due to bad capacitors and internals. Is it true that the vs650 is a bad psu?

It's Corsairs bottom of the line PSU, good for simple workstations.

The CX series is next in line for higher end workstations than the VS, then the solid mid range TXM and SF and then the high end units Like the RMX, RMI, HX, HXi, and AXI.

The recommended units for gaming boxes start with the TXM series as they are higher quality units ment for that purpose.

One really has to match the model PSU with the intended use of the computer and specs to see the best results overall.

The PSU is THE MOST important part of the computer and the last thing one should ever look at to cut costs. A lot of people have learned the hard way ranging from unstable systems to burned up parts to fires.

That said one doesn't have to spend a fortune to get a good solid unit either.

SF 450W and 600W is mainly for ITX and Micro Setups , if you want to use it as an ATX PSU you need a bracket.

http://www.corsair.com/en-us/sfx-to-atx-psu-adapter-bracket
Bracket is here ^

For a mini SFX style PSU the SF series is tops , best in the business , I own the SF600.

I know, we never see many of them except for ITX machines, but they are good units for that.

The TXM is the sweet spot between the CX and VS workstation units and the high end units.

Kinda like the Seasonic G-Series, between the older model units and the Focus and high end X- Series and Prime Units.
